The Board of Directors of Valley PBS is excited to announce the appointments of Jeff Aiello as Interim Chief Executive Officer and Nancy Borjas as Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Aiello is an Emmy Award winning documentary filmmaker and producer with more than 35 years in broadcast and cable television production as a cinematographer, editor, writer, motion graphics artist, producer and filmmaker including 15 years as Director of Marketing, Production and Programming for ABC 30 and The Walt Disney Company. And, Ms. Borjas has more than 12 years of experience with Valley PBS in accounting, marketing, operations and programming. Their experience and leadership supported by the incredible and dedicated staff and Board of Directors will continue to provide programming that educates, enriches and inspires viewers while being the Valley’s classroom, a stage for the arts, lens for exploration and leader in local documentaries and content.
In spite of the challenges of 2020-2021, Valley PBS skillfully pivoted and filled the gap for our valley children and their families by expanding and investing in programming dedicated to enrich virtual learning classrooms.
Valley PBS’s efforts were rewarded with Grants from local school districts, PPP loans and CPB grants for station upgrades and payroll costs. Revenue and Membership have also seen considerable growth with the assistance of locally produced programming in partnership with Mr. Aiello and 18Thirty Entertainment including: Outside: Beyond the Lens and American Grown: MJDOA.
“Donors, members and sponsors can be assured that Valley PBS is well positioned to deliver our mission and do even greater work in the days and months ahead,” says Karen Musson, Board President.

During the screening, Assemblyman Jim Patterson presented Jeff with a resolution from the California Legislature commending his work during the fire. “I can’t think of anybody who was more significant in helping us, working our way through this Creek Fire, helping us to understand where it was, where it was going. He provided us with reality, but he also provided us with hope,” Patterson said during his presentation.
Watch Afterburn: The Creek Fire Documentary on Thursday, September 30 at 7pm on Valley PBS Channel. 18.1, online at video.valleypbs.org, on YouTube.com/ValleyPBS and on Facebook.com/ValleyPBS.
