Hosted by actor James Pickens, Jr., THE MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. CELEBRATION CONCERT WITH THE CLEVELAND ORCHESTRA honors the life and legacy of the civil rights icon. Conducted by music director Franz Welser-Most, the Cleveland Orchestra performs classical selections by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Verdi as well as traditional hymns and spirituals, including "Down by the Riverside," "Precious Lord," and "Lift Every Voice and Sing."

Terri Allard hears from a choir that joins together in music to unify community members of all religions, ethnicities and backgrounds. Charlottesville’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Choir has sung songs of courage, faith and love for more than three decades. Residents and choir members from multiple houses of worship express a message of hope for a better community and a better world.
