FRESNO, CA. March 22, 2019 – Central California Mennonite Residential Services is excited to announce, “A Picnic in the Park” event, a celebration of our latest progress in the “H.U.G. (Help Us Grow) Campaign.” It will be held on March 22, 2019 from 12PM to 4PM at Friendship Park located at 3825 E. Hampton Way #110 in Fresno, CA. You won’t want to miss an exclusive ribbon cutting which will happen at 12:30pm sharp!
As result of so many generous donors and the hard work of our volunteers our park is now more accessible to the residents in our community with mobility needs with beautiful landscaping and a brand-new bocce ball court! This will be a fun time with great friends, live music, free picnic friendly food, along with a bocce ball court demonstration.
CCMRS has provided support living to adults with developmental disabilities for over 31 years. Our mission is, “to provide unique, Christ-centered services to persons with developmental disabilities which empower them to meet their goals while participating in a supportive community”.
This re-opening marks the completion of phase one with nearly 60% of our goal raised in the amount of $17,386.88. We continue toward our goal of raising $30,000 and developing the next part of the project, including planting fruit trees and constructing raised planter beds to grow fruits and vegetables for the community.
We are looking forward to honor all of our amazing volunteers and generous donors for holding hands with us and helping to make this happen! We are proud of what has been accomplished so far and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
