Celebrating Clovis at 108!

AN ART AND ARTIFACTS EXHIBIT

CLOVIS, CA, JANUARY 21, 2020:  The Clovis Friends of the Library and the Clovis Regional Library are partnering in a month-long exhibit throughout February featuring the history of Clovis including related artifacts, artist paintings and photographs.  An artist reception will occur February 20, from 5-8 pm, and the exhibit runs the entire month. Official Welcome, by Clovis City Councilmember Lynne Ashbeck is at 6:30 pm.

The Clovis-Big Dry Creek Historical Society will loan artifacts normally housed in the Clovis Big Dry Creek Historical Museum in Old Town Clovis for the exhibit.  Artist Pat Hunter will be exhibiting her historical Clovis paintings, and photographs owned by the Fresno County Library will complete the exhibit. The Artist Reception will include writer Janice Stevens who has partnered with Pat Hunter on numerous book projects featuring local historical landmarks and history.

The Artist Reception, February 20, 2020 will be in the theme of “Celebrating Clovis”, commemorating the 108th anniversary of the city’s incorporation. Local dignitaries are invited, and members of the public are also invited to attend.

Clovis Friends of the Library is part of the nonprofit Friends of the Fresno County Public Library, and serves to support library programs, publicize library events, and is a member of the Fresno Arts Council, bringing new art exhibits each month and participating in Third Thursday ArtHop.
