Celebrate the nation's 236th birthday with ValleyPBS as we bring you awesome fireworks and entertaining performances straight from the capitol.

Hosted by Tom Bergeron from "Dancing With The Stars," A Capitol Fourth will commemorate Independence Day with performances by "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips, "The Voice" winner Javier Colon, Tony Award-winner Matthew Broderick, country star Josh Turner and R&B group Kool & The Gang. Eight-time Olympic medalist Apollo Anton Ohno will also host a tribute to Team USA, which is preparing to head off to the London summer games.

The big celebration ends with the best display of fireworks in the country over some of our most beautiful monuments, captured by twenty cameras so viewers can feel like they're right there in D.C.
